You may remember Gary & Carli from their maternity session last month. And my, how much can change in one month’s time. Baby Ryland is here and life will never be the same. The countless baby items that fill the house, the sleepless nights, the trying to figure it all out and mostly, the intense love that brings you to tears.

It’s a time that new parents will treasure forever. I love going to my client’s home for that reason. To shoot in exactly the place where it’s all happening. And as time inevitably passes by much too quickly, a little glimpse is captured to spark those emotions forever.

Congratulations, Gary & Carli. Your little man is perfect. The baby items will be stored away, he will sleep through the night and you will use Google much less often but that love will bring you to tears for the rest of your life.

Coto de Caza Maternity Session [Carli + Gary] / Orange County Maternity Photographer

I was so excited to shoot this session from the very first time I was contacted by Carli. There was something just magnetic about her excitement over her baby and I truly could not wait to document such an amazing time in she and Gary’s life.

When I met Carli and Gary it was so obvious just how excited and in love they are. Not only with baby Ryland James (love his name!) but also with each other. I know that they are going to make the most adoring parents and that this baby is never going to be put down. He is going to be spoiled with love (and possibly lots of sweets since his Grandma is owner of the DELICIOUS Nothing Bundt Cakes)!

Congratulations you two! The love you feel now for Ryland is just going to grow to strengths you never knew existed once you see his sweet little face. I am SO happy and excited for you!

I can’t wait to meet him and photograph all of his cuteness. All day now!

Intimate At-Home Newborn & Family Session / Orange County Family Newborn Photograper

I had the pleasure of photographing Marjorie last month for her maternity photos and now Baby Jacob is here! Marjorie was due in the middle of June so when she let me know Jacob had arrived early on May 28th, it was a welcomed surprise; I couldn’t wait to capture all of his newness and Jacob obviously couldn’t wait to see the world!

Those first weeks home are so immensely special. All of the love (and exhaustion) that fills the air after a new family member arrives is unlike anything else. I made my way down to Encinitas ten days after Jacob’s birth to document this beautiful moment in time at their home where it was all taking place.

The morning was filled with a lot of memories: Jacob’s daddy loves vintage automobiles so we made sure to get a shot in his classic truck for a Father’s Day surprise, Jacob’s big sister (although still wondering if he was there to stay) loved holding her brother and giving him hugs and Jacob’s mommy was every bit a second-time mom; tired but a pro and so in love.

Thank you, Gustafson Family for the honor of recording your first days as a family with Jacob. I’m so happy for you all and look forward to watching your love grow!

San Juan Capistrano Maternity Session [Marjorie] / Orange County Maternity Photographer

There is nothing quite like waiting for your baby. Watching your belly grow. Feeling those first swooshes and swishes. Daydreaming about what he or she will look like. The anticipation and the love grows stronger with each passing day. This is baby #2 for Marjorie and it was such an honor to document this exciting time of expanding her family. The glowing light and the springtime flowers in bloom coupled with Marjorie’s beauty and genuine happiness made this session such a blast to shoot!

This baby boy will be joining his big sister sometime in June and I can not wait take his first photos! Mostly for selfish reason like I miss that brand-new baby smell 😉 I am so excited for the entire family to have this new little man to love. The only thing better than waiting for your baby is meeting him. It’s almost time.

The Villa San Juan Capistrano Wedding [Jenny + Travis] / San Juan Capistrano Wedding Photographer

From the moment I met Jenny, I felt very comfortable with her. Almost like I had met her before. The more we got to talking, the more I realized why. We are basically the same person. Planners, thinkers, researchers…as much as we like to believe we are “go-with-the-flow”…we. are. not. One step ahead is the name of our game. BUT, our spouses are quite the opposite and that’s why it works so well! Travis is a big ball of joy and positive energy. Just being around him makes you happy. He brings out so much ease, fun and laughter and it cultivates the perfect relationship. Grounded, playful, and super-in-love, they have it all.

You may remember Jenny and Travis from their engagement photos several months back. It was then I knew this was going to be one stylish and fun wedding! And that it was. Jenny and Travis’ wedding at The Villa San Juan Capistrano was an absolutely beautiful day. From the most gorgeous wedding gown, spearmint colored bridesmaid’s dresses, bright florals, a cake made to perfection and the elegant yet rustic setting at The Villa to Costco pizza, a very hungry Cooper (their dog baby), bacon donuts, the best man organizing “apartment key returns” for Travis during his speech and guests getting down on the dance floor…this wedding was the perfect combination of planned and spontaneous. Just like the Bride and Groom.

Cheers, Mr. and Mrs. Miller! Here’s to a lifetime of love and adventure and cozy nights at home. Thank you for allowing me the pleasure of documenting the start of your new life together as husband and wife!
