Five Months [A Personal Post]

This little girl has our whole hearts. There’s nothing we wouldn’t do for her; no sacrifice we wouldn’t make. She makes our hearts sing every single day. And the more and more her unique personality shines through, the more and more we fall in love.

This being a Mama thing sure is hard…but mostly it’s joyful, it’s fulfilling, it’s life changing in the best possible way, it’s a privilege. It’s amazing how the things I used to let eat me up matter so much less now because I know that at the end of the day I have this incredible blessing and she’s healthy. Nothing else quite matters. We’ve got all we need.

Happy five months, Sadie Lee May. We love you more than words could ever describe.

Holiday Mini-Session [May Family] / San Clemente Family Photographer

It’s always fun when I get to photograph my own family and this session was no exception! My husband and his brother, Eric are freakishly into each other 😉  No, but really, they are best friends and so we all get to spend a ton of time together. Which works out great for me because Eric’s wife, Sara is one of my closest friends. Even better is the fact that we were both pregnant at the same exact time last year. Our babies were born just 7 days apart! It was so cool experiencing our pregnancies together and so fun now to have baby cousins that close in age.

After I was through with their family photos we thought we’d get a shot of all three kiddos, Levi, Colton and my daughter, Sadie but as you will see…that wasn’t happening! Although I do love how funny the shots turned out. And, all the noises and jumping my husband Chase, Eric and Sara did while I was trying to get the shot kind of made it all worth it 😉  In the end, Colton and Sadie tolerated a little more of their paparazzi Aunt/Mommy.

Love this family and all of our babies so much. I’m excited to see these kiddos grow together (although not too fast, I hope). They are so lucky to have each other.

Holiday Mini-Session [O’Rourke Family] / Irvine Family Photographer

Ummm, how extremely ADORABLE are these two kiddos! So cute and so full of personality; I could’ve spent all day with Keegan and Mackenzie! There were so many sweet moments throughout this Mini-Session but definitely some of my favorites were the daddy/daughter and mother/son shots. You can just feel the strong bonds and love radiating off of this family and it is so heart warming. A side note- I so loved Mackenzie’s green skinny jeans that I tried to find some for my own daughter for weeks with no luck. Turns out green skinny jeans for an 8 week old was not really happening. But man, were they cute 😉

Thank you, O’Rourke family for your great style, your loads of love and your fun personalities! Enjoy!

Holiday Mini-Session [Howard Family] / San Juan Capistrano Family Photographer

Shooting this family was such a good time! I got to hang out with the cutest little man, Cole and his hysterical and very sweet Grandpa. Between those two, I was smiling and laughing the entire session 🙂

But then it got even better. Yvonne has given me permission to share these special photos of her telling her parents that Cole is going to be a big brother! I had no idea Yvonne and Mike were expecting before the shoot so when Yvonne told her parents I was just as surprised as they were and had to remind myself to stay put and shoot, shoot , shoot! Everyone was so excited and it was such an honor to witness the big reveal of a new family addition. Another reason why I love my job!

Thank you for allowing me to photograph your family. You were all so amazing! Congratulations again; I can’t wait to see your new little love.

Holiday Mini-Session [Martinez Family] / San Juan Capistrano Family Photographer

I have photographed the Martinez family several times and I just adore watching the kids grow! They are full of spunk, energy and love!

It was so fun watching how the kids play with each other and the awesome bond they share. And, as a new mother to a little girl, it melted my heart seeing how much these little girls love their Daddy. It’s such a special relationship and one I was so happy to be able to document.

While our session lasted just 30 minutes I know I could’ve photographed this family for much, much longer.

Thank you, Martinez family and enjoy!
